This Monday there is good news for the Portuguese pilots. THEFuel prices will fall at domestic service stations: major oil companies report “a drop in the price of petrol of up to 2.5 cents per litre, while diesel is expected to be up to 4 cents cheaper,” an industry source told Multinews.
In MDD stations – which normally operate next to hypermarkets – the orientation is “an increase of 0.0017 euros for gasoline and a decrease of 0.0334 euros for diesel”, added another source.
Data from the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG) shows that the average price of a liter of simple diesel in Portugal currently costs 1,636 euros per litre, while that of simple 95 petrol is worth 1 679 euro. Quotations may however vary at service station level, with the price set on the network also taking into account the level of competition, supply and demand in each market and the level of fixed costs at each station.
The latest fuel bulletin from the European Commission indicates that Portugal occupies the tenth position in the ranking of EU countries with 95 higher petrol prices, 9 cents more expensive than in Spain. Diesel occupies the 18th position.
