André Villas-Boas, who should be a candidate for the presidency of FC Porto in the next elections, in 2024, praised the gala of the Dragons d’Or, but also left a “pic” and a tip for the future ceremonies where athletes and women stand out from the personalities of FC Porto who stand out in the different sports and categories.
“A beautiful Golden Dragons Gala demonstrating once again the importance and relevance of this great Porto institution, Portuguese and internationally prestigious. Congratulations to all the distinguished Portistas of this immense family. That one day the awarding of this great distinction can also be voted on and decided by the members and supporters of FC Porto”, we read in the publication made by the former coach of the club on social networks.
Villas-Boas, let’s remember, had received the Dragon d’Or in the coach of the year category in 2011, already as Chelsea coach, this after spending only one season at the club, although full of titles: championship, Portuguese Cup, Super Cup and Europa League. Without a club since leaving Marseille in February 2021, he has already been nominated as a possible candidate for the presidency of FC Porto.
The 35th Golden Dragons Gala took place last Monday evening and, among other personalities from the Porto universe, singled out Sérgio Conceição, Diogo Costa and Otávio as Coach, Athlete and Footballer of the Year, respectively.
