Smokers have older hearts than non-smokers

Smoking is associated with a series of diseases, as we all know, and is responsible, according to the World Health Organization, for the death of six million people a year.

In the cardiovascular field, we now know that a person who smokes has a heart twenty years older than a person who does not touch cigarettes.

This is the main conclusion of a study carried out jointly by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and the University of Lorraine, in France.

More than 1600 people between the ages of 18 and 70 were analyzed, noting a tendency to aging of the heart and the negative impact of tobacco on blood vessels.

The solution is to quit, for sure, but even if you do, the truth is that the negative effects are not completely reversed and there is permanent damage.
