UEFA have announced the referees who will officiate FC Porto and Sporting’s matches on Tuesday against Atlético Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively in the Champions League group stage final round.
Daniele Orsato returns to Dragão to referee FC Porto-Atlético Madrid after refereeing the 0-5 defeat at home to Liverpool in the Round of 16 in 2017/18. The 46-year-old Italian referee, an international since 2004, was also involved in Les Bleus et Blancs’ 2-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb, Croatia, in the Champions League group stage in 2012/13. .
Ciro Carbone and Alessandro Giallatini (assistants), Davide Massa (fourth referee) and Massimiliano Irrati (VAR), also Italians, complete the referee team.
Slavko Vincic, 42 and international since 2010, will be at Alvalade to referee Sporting-Eintracht Frankfurt. The Slovenian has also crossed paths with the lions in European competition: he refereed the victory (4-1) over Besiktas, in Istanbul, in the group stage of Champions, last season.
The refereeing team is complete with Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic (assistants), David Smajc (fourth referee) and Juan Martínez Munuera (VAR).
