For now, the changes are not yet profound, they just give a more modern look to the platform.
O YouTube is already planning a new layout for the platform and the visual changes will happen in your apps and also for the web version. The test phase has already started and some users have already had access to the changes to evaluate some of the new features that are on the way. The information comes from the Olhar Digital portal, specialized in technology, based on the 9to5Google site.
According to the post, at least two YouTube desktop and iPad users have already come into contact with the platform’s new homepage design. For a certain time, the changes are not deep yet, they just give a more modern look to the platform. In the case of YouTube for iPad, the main changes are in the format of the topic carousel items.
Currently, the look and feel of the site comes in the form of pills, but the new version of YouTube will replace it with rectangles with rounded corners. Rounded corners will also be taken for video thumbnail images, while the bottom bar of the application had a change in the position of the tabs: “Explorar” went to the right corner, while “Shorts” gained prominence in the middle part.
For desktop, the changes are a bit more sophisticated. The search bar changed from a rectangular shape to a pill shape, and in the topic carousel the change was the opposite – from a pill to a rectangular shape with rounded corners. For a certain time, the service’s new homepage is currently being tested, and there is no prediction as to when it will be released for all users. The expectation is that all platforms get the news.
