Sports Interactive has announced the release of the new edition of Football Manager, for November 8th. One of the big new features of Football Manager 2023 will be the full license of all UEFA competitions, bringing the Champions League to life with an official logo and name for the first time. Another novelty, the game will be released for the first time on Playstation, exclusively on PS5.
The game is a great success to manageuh, a management game where you are in the role of manager (and football director) of the club. Heir to Championship Manager, first released in 1992 and featured in our Gamepedia series. The game is hugely popular around the world and is coming back to consoles, which is expected to increase its popularity and reach among gamers.
In the latest edition the game was released on Game Pass, in a console edition for Xbox, something that will be repeated in FM 2023 (and we show how subscribers to the service can access the game from Brazil), both for Xbox One and for Xbox Series S|X. The game will launch for Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers on day one on November 8. The game will also be on Nintendo Switch, in addition to PC, of course.
Another important novelty is that the game will have the version to touch, which was not released in the 2022 edition. The Touch version is for tablets and is simplified compared to the full edition and attracts many gamers who want simpler FM gameplay. However, it will be more limited. It will be present on Apple Arcade, the Mountain View giant’s game subscription service, and on Switch. Apple Acarde can only be subscribed to branded devices, which severely limits who can benefit from it.
The mobile version will normally be available on the Android and Apple platform, but not in Brazilian stores.
UEFA licenses present in the game

The main novelty for those who play is the licensing of UEFA competitions, including the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Super Cup. As with the Bundesliga, all pre-match, match and post-match images will have the official competition theme, including scores, logos and spelling.
“Football Manager 2023 marks another significant step forward for the Football Manager series as we introduce UEFA club competitions and bring the game to Playstation 5. The addition of these historic competitions is great for all parties involved and will add another dynamic and challenging element to the game fans who make this year’s edition the most realistic football management simulation available,” said Miles Jacobson, head of Sports Interactive, the studio that produces the game.
It will be a more realistic experience which will give the feeling of a game of these competitions. Anyone who has played FM 2022 in a German team has felt it in the Bundesliga, with an official license. Sports Interactive also said that further information on how UEFA’s competition licenses will improve the gaming experience will be revealed in October. This is great news for anyone who enjoys playing European football and taking part in these competitions. The feeling of immersion will certainly increase.
The launch will take place on November 8 and, as in previous editions, the game is not officially sold in Brazil. However, don’t worry: it will be possible to buy legally in Brazil and here we will show you how to do it.
