Key Features of TP-Link Tapo C320WS

The TP-Link Tapo C320WS camera has a 2K resolution with a maximum of 2560x1440p. It is a camera ready to be placed on the street and, therefore, it is IP66 certified, which guarantees protection against water and dust.

The camera can be connected to a Wi-Fi network, but also by cable, with an Ethernet connection, ensuring even more reliable communications.

We are talking about a camera with night vision, but it goes beyond most proposals on the market, since it offers a color image. The brand also speaks of "advanced night vision" which is guaranteed by a very sensitive light sensor that captures better quality images even in low light conditions.

The camera includes motion detection, with notifications, sound and light alarm, and two-way audio. It's even compatible with Google and Amazon voice assistants.

All images can be saved locally, up to 256 GB, on a microSD card.

construction and design

The Tapo C320WS doesn't exactly have an exclusive design. It is actually very similar to the previous model Tapo C310. It has a very elegant look, with rounded lines and quite small.

The structure is in white, with a red line around it and the front area is in black glass, where the camera, night sensors and LEDs and even the motion sensor are included. The microphone and speaker are located at the bottom, in the same area as the microSD card slot and the reset button, which has protection accessible only by removing two screws.

On the sides, the antennas to capture Wi-Fi stand out. The Ethernet connection and power cables are waterproof.

Easy and intuitive installation

The camera is already placed on the support that will be used to fix it to the wall, with all the necessary accessories available. The user will only have to carry the necessary tools, such as a drill and a screwdriver.

Before the installation process, you also need to insert the microSD card into the slot.

Once done, just install the app, which is available for Android and iOS, to continue with the whole process. Besides being the app that manages this camera, it will also work for all Tapo cameras.

Once installed, the app asks to search for supported devices. In this case, it will ask you to choose the camera from a displayed list. Then, step by step, the application takes the user to the application already synchronized with the camera and the WiFi network (or with the network connection via a router).

The app is simple to use and allows us to set some security settings and notifications.

The camera has not been tested in a real environment, but its features have all been tested with the simulation of certain situations, namely motion detection and personalization.

The quality of the images captured is really good with surprising night images with the Full Color Mode option. However, in most cases the Infrared mode for black and white images will suffice. Yet there is still a third image capture mode which is smart and switches to color capture when motion is detected.

For motion detection and alarm settings are also advanced and the result is very satisfactory. For example, it is possible to set the detection and sensitivity of human movements, to create specific alarm zones only when there is movement in a certain zone or when the person crosses a certain line. All this is defined in the application in a simple and intuitive way.

Communication via Wi-Fi for two-way communication also meets the requirements, which enables fast communication perfectly.

It should be noted that adjusting the direction of the camera is only done manually, i.e. once fixed, it is not possible to control its direction via the application.

The price of this camera is around €50 in the domestic market. THE limit field is a distributor of the TP-Link brand to whom we thank in advance for providing us with this product for analysis.
