The World Health Organization (WHO) has advocated the application of the second dose in the event of a booster only for specific groups.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said last Thursday (18) that there is no need to apply the fourth dose of the covid-19 vaccine to the general population.
According to the agency, the need for the second booster dose would only concern people with risk factors. Be the elderly, people with comorbidities, immunosuppressed, pregnant women and health professionals.
WHO senior health adviser Joachim Hombach says there is a “very low” risk for the general population of developing serious illness after the first booster. Thus, the application of the second booster (4th dose) is not necessary.
