LE BALLON – Juveniles: Victory in the last ‘sigh’ for the consecration of Sporting (Sports)

Written by admin

To close the national youth championship, already won by Sporting, Sporting Academy hosted a classic against FC Porto which provided goals and a comeback for the greens and whites, who won 3-2.

Despite no longer playing for any competitive purpose, FC Porto played for their own pride and took the lead, near halftime, thanks to a well-crafted throw-in for Tiago Andrade to finish.

Sporting came back ready not to lose their unbeaten record at this stage of the competition and prevailed in the second half, managing to turn the tide with two goals separated by the same number of minutes: Manuel Mendonça, with a precise touch inside the area (72nd), and Vivaldo Semedo (74th), with an excellent shot at the entrance to the area, put the lions in front of the mark, but FC Porto did not let go .

Indeed, in the 84th minute, the blues and whites again equalized the match on a very nice elevation by Luís Gomes in the small equalizing area. However, Sporting wanted to celebrate… and they did.

The clock was already ticking over 90+6 minutes when Adair Kandala managed to deflect the blue-and-white net down, confirming Sporting’s triumph in the consecration meeting, after which the lions lifted the trophy.
