Scheduled for June 8, the APMGF Research Department is organizing the third open meeting/informal conversation on research. The discussion focuses on the theme “Research on FGM – what is done in Portugal”, and counts with the contribution of Bruno Heleno, professor at the University NOVA School of Medicine and Principal Investigator of the Person Centered Research Group at the Center for the Study of Chronic Diseases.
The start of the session is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and the program includes an approach to bibliographic management tools (Mendeley), in charge of Paulo Nicola – member of the coordination core of the APMGF Research Department and researcher of the Research Unit. ‘Epidemiology of the Institute of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon).
The coordinating core, from the APMGF research department, is made up of Paulo Nicola, Gil Correia, Margarida Gil Conde and Raquel Ramos. “The objective is clear: to promote research on FGM! This is one of the objectives of the current National Directorate (DN), which we believe is of great importance in the affirmation of our specialty and that of family doctors. In addition to developing its own research, the department will be an open space for discussion and support for the projects of our associates”, declared Paulo Nicola, during the 39th National Congress of the APMGF.
The meetings are a space where “research proposals and ideas can be presented and where news will be given on funding opportunities, training, collaboration proposals, among others”.
