THE BALL – Pique wants to return to the national team to compete in the World Cup (Spain)

After four years of absence, Gerard Pique is determined to return to represent the Spanish national team to compete in the World Cup next winter, in Qatar.

The news is advanced this Thursday by the newspaper The worldwhich reports that the 35-year-old Barcelona centre-back has offered Luis Enrique to be part of the call-up for the competition.

The good time Pique is going through at Barcelona since Xavi’s arrival in charge of the Catalans has led the experienced defender to consider playing for a fourth World Cup in his career.

Pique hasn’t played for the Spanish national team since the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and Luis Enrique will now have several months to think about it. The Barça defender has 103 caps and was part of the world champion team in 2010 and Europe in 2012.
