The sporting director of Sporting saw red after the final whistle and was suspended preventively.
The Disciplinary Board (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has decided to discontinue the disciplinary proceedings initiated against Hugo Viana following the confusion after the final whistle of the match between FC Porto and Sporting, in 22nd day of the championship.
Like Luís Gonçalves, general manager of FC Porto, Sporting’s sporting director was preemptively suspended for 20 days, after being sent off by João Pinheiro after the final whistle of the classic. According to the referee’s report, he entered the field of play ‘to cause a conflict with an opponent’, in this case Pepe.
Luís Gonçalves, for his part, is accused by the CD of serious offences, as well as Pepe and Tabata.
