Portugal beat Greece (4-0), in a match counting for Group D of the qualification for Euro-2023. It was the return to victory for Rui Jorge’s men, after the draw against Iceland (1-1) in the last round.
Fábio Carvalho (12′) made his debut to score in this category and together with Fábio Vieira (32′) and Fábio Silva (45+1′) he left victory virtually guaranteed in the first half. Henrique Araújo (83rd) finished the second half.
With this result, Portugal climbed to first place with 19 points and guaranteed, from now on, that they will finish in one of the first two places (the second requiring a play-off). Greece are in second place with 17 points, eight more than Iceland (one game less).
