BOLA – New Zealand wins and guarantees a “play-off” for access to the World Cup (OFC)

New Zealand confirmed the favoritism and, by beating the Solomon Islands 5-0, marked their presence in the intercontinental play-off for access to the 2022 World Cup.

The New Zealanders, who were looking for their third appearance in the final (1982 and 2010), won the big triumph in Doha, Qatar, with goals from Tuiloma (23′ and 69′), Charlie Wood (39′) and Bell (50′).

In the play-offs, New Zealand will face fourth place in the CONCACAF qualifier, with Costa Rica the most likely opponent for the Oceania team. Whoever wins (match scheduled for June 13 or 14) will guarantee a spot at the 2022 World Cup, being drawn into pot 4.
