Benfica’s Uruguayan striker is preparing to be one of the big stirrers in the next summer market
Darwin Núñez is preparing to be one of the great shakers at the next summer market. The Uruguayan has several “sharks” at his side, especially in the Premier League, but according to “The Telegraph”, the Spaniards of Atlético Madrid are the best placed in the race for the Benfica striker.
However, Manchester United are also monitoring the player who is protected by a €150m release clause. But to present a captivating official proposal, the “red devils” will have to go to the Champions League next season, which is not certain at the moment. The team of Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and Cristiano Ronaldo currently sit in sixth place, with 50 points, and only the top four make it into the millionaires’ league. Arsenal – another Darwin-watchful team – are in 4th place, with 54 points and one game less than United. In England, West Ham and Newcastle have also expressed interest in Darwin, and the Reds’ SAD believe they will make €80m from the transfer.
