World Cup 2022: Cameroon beats Algeria with two goals denied to Slimani


Algeria were kicked out of the Qatar World Cup by Cameroon due to a goal scored at 120+4 by Ekambi, after the Maghreb team scored the goal that earned them qualification at 118m.

Cameroon won 2-1 in this second leg of the play-offs, despite losing 1-0 in the first leg, in this case on away goals.

Choupo-Moting scored in the 22nd minute for the Cameroon national team, taking the tie in extra time, after Islam Slimani had a goal disallowed in the 49th minute. The Sporting striker scored again in the first half of extra time, but the goal was again disallowed using VAR.

At 118m, Touba equalized the match and left the stands in a frenzy, but the bucket of cold water would arrive shortly after when Ekambi.
