Joan Laporta gave a long interview to RAC1, in which he confirms that Barcelona tried to sign João Félix during the summer. However, the deal for the Portuguese has come up against Atlético Madrid’s intransigence.
“I really like João Félix, his manager knows that. He’s a great player and in fact, there was an opportunity to swap Griezmann for him. We tried, but Atlético Madrid don’t want to let him go and they’re fine.”
And as far as swaps go, Laporta also touched on the possibility of using Francisco Trincao to stay with Wolverhampton’s Adama Traore.
“It’s a hypothesis that we are going to think about. We are very satisfied with Adama, he brought a spirit of maximum competitiveness. Trincao is a great player, but he hasn’t been here for a while,” he concluded.
