Pedro Caixinha, 51, spoke at a press conference on Monday, for the first time as coach of Talleres, after giving a training session.
“We found a group that was open, receptive, ready to do things. Give them the benefit of the doubt to listen and understand everything they have and how you want them to perform on the pitch. It is a pleasure to work in Argentina and to be able to represent Portuguese coaches, in a country as passionate about football as Argentina,” said the Portuguese coach.
Talleres sits 12th in Group A, with just five points from seven games played, and Pedro Caixinha hopes to reach eighth place in the Libertadores Cup: “Let’s think game by game. The intensity that the team has on the pitch is something that I like and that always guides us in relation to our team’s ideas. This is the starting point, the base. The game of football and game ideas, which are based on behaviors, we will have little time to work on. So we will have to be strict about all that, but it has to be a team that goes out on the field to win. »
