The winner of this game will then face the 5th-placed team. from CONMEBOL – Chile, Peru or Colombia – to decide who qualifies for Qatar-2022.
Also in contention for that ‘dam’ are Iraq, who drew 1-1 with Syria but had to win and await a slip from the Emirates.
In the Asian zone, South Korea, Iran, Japan and Saudi Arabia ensured direct qualification.
