The provisional stay of a trial is a solution for crimes considered less serious. In this case, the defendant is released under the conditions proposed by the public prosecutor and which the investigating judge must accept. In this particular situation, the three defendants were obliged to hand over to the State, within three months, one thousand euros. But there is more: for a year they cannot access sports venues, they will have to report to the police during V. Guimarães matches and they have had to apologize not only to Marega but also to the club of the Minho, what happened now.
The game in question, between the Victorians and FC Porto, took place on February 16, 2020. Around the 70th minute, shortly after scoring the winning goal in blue and white, Marega, who previously played for the Guimarães, asked to be replaced. and ended up leaving the field, filled with racist chants addressed to him by V. Guimarães supporters, with sounds imitating monkeys.
