For Amorim to see: Rodrigo Ribeiro’s big goal in the selection process

The national under-17 team qualified this afternoon for the European Championship, with a “big” rout against Finland, by 9-1.

In the third and final round of the Elite Round of access to the European Championship 2022, a draw was enough for Portugal to guarantee qualification, but the Portuguese players gave their best.

José Dinis Rodrigues and Rodrigo Ribeiro were the stars, with a hat-trick each: Rodrigues, from Sp. Braga, scored at 45+1m, 60m and 65m, while the Sporting striker, already with minutes in the squad coached by Ruben Amorim, came on in the 63rd minute and enjoyed the foot at 74m, 80m and 89m. The second goal, by the way, is a goal to lift the stadium.

Now see:

Afonso Moreira (11m), João Gonçalves (13m) and Diogo Monteiro (90+2m) scored the remaining goals for José Lima’s side, while Talvitie, two minutes away, netted for the Finns.

With three victories over Finland, the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria, Portugal is thus in the European U-17 Championship which takes place in May, in Israel.
