The Portuguese Association of Football Referees (APAF) has condemned the aggression of a referee during a futsal match, which took place on Saturday, during a 1st division match of AF Lisboa, between Preganca and Salesiana (see related news).
Captain Salesiana Francisco Vaz punched referee André Cardoso after his expulsion and was even arrested, with APAF thanking GNR for the intervention present in the pavilion.
“During the AF Lisboa Futsal match, between Pragança Mar and Salesianos Estoril, the match referee was attacked. APAF will trigger all the necessary mechanisms for this behavior to be condemned in a rapid and exemplary manner. This type of attitude should be banned from any sport. APAF will continue to work in this direction! Thanks to the agents of the GNR, who immediately arrested the aggressor, respecting what is defined for these situations”, indicates a press release from the organization.
