In full rise in Brazil, the Portuguese trainer Abel Ferreira, double champion of the Libertadores for Palmeiras, was, this Monday, the first guest of the podcast CONMEBOL’s ’90+3′, and makes a big revelation.
“I can now project what I think of myself in the short/medium term. I want to fulfill my contract with Palmeiras [até 2024] then take a year off. That’s my intention,” he said.
And in the face of this revelation, he explained why he renewed his contract: “I really like to plan my career. I came against the wishes of my family, I arrived because of my own conviction, because I studied, I knew it was a great club that would give me a chance to fight for titles. I signed and renewed because we want to continue fighting for titles. I don’t know if we will win, but the ambition is to continue in the final.”
About a possible invitation that could arise to coach the Brazilian team, Abel Ferreira closed the door, at least for now…
“I want to continue doing this for two years in Palmeiras. Then I want a sabbatical year and then we talk about the national team, the clubs or even retirement”, he concluded.
