A war-affected group of Ukrainian under-19s have been in Romania for several days with the help of the Steaua leader, who has provided training camps, as well as food and accommodation.
A (sporting) consequence of the war in Ukraine. The U19 match between Dynamo kyiv, a club from the Ukrainian capital, and Sporting, relative to the “8th” of the Youth League, will take place at the Rapid Stadium, in Bucharest, on April 7.
Dynamo kyiv, unable to use facilities in their own country due to the war, have been working in Romania since March 23, with the help of Steaua Bucharest president Gigi Becali, who gave up club space.
The leader provided the grounds of the Romanian capital’s emblem training center, as well as food and accommodation, to the Dynamo kyiv under-19 team, whose meeting with Sporting was successively postponed.
The Youth League game between the Ukrainian and Portuguese teams was originally scheduled for March 2 in Kyiv. The winner of this meeting will face Benfica in the “quarters” of the young European competition.
