Pedro Caixinha is the new coach of Talleres, the Argentinian club announced on Friday.
In a press release, the emblem of Cordoba informs that the Portuguese coach has signed a contract valid for one season.
“The criteria for this choice are based on his professional training and his important trajectory, his human qualities, his work capacity and his leadership style necessary for intense national and international competition,” reads the press release.
After being sacked a month ago by Mexico’s Santos Laguna, Caixinha, who coached clubs like Nacional and União de Leiria, will train for Argentina.
He will be the first Portuguese coach to lead a team from the country of the pampas.
In addition, Caixinha will be the opponent of Paulo Sousa, the coach of Flamengo, in the group stage of Libertadores.
