LE BAL – “This disease had the courage to come back to fight me” (Bologna)

Bologna will be deprived of the presence of Sinisa Mihajlovic in the next matches of his team. The 53-year-old Serbian coach will have to return to hospital to start new cancer treatments.

“I cyclically do in-depth analyzes after the illness. In recent years, the recovery has been excellent, but unfortunately there are now warning signs and this implies the risk of the disease returning. At the beginning of next week, I will be absent, because I will be admitted to the hospital. I know I’m in good hands. Unlike two and a half years ago, I now know what to do. I hope it’s fast,” he said in a conversation with reporters.

In 2019, Mihajlovic was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Recovery was confirmed, after undergoing a bone marrow transplant and three chemotherapy sessions.

“In fact, this disease had the courage to come back to fight me. I’m here: if the first lesson didn’t reach you, I’ll give you a second! It’s the way of life, it’s made up of ups and downs. There are also holes where you can fall, but you always have to find the strength to get out of them,” said the coach.

Despite the distances, Mihajlovic promises to remain very attentive to the performance of the your Bologna. “I have everything ready to follow training and matches in the bedroom. I know the players won’t let me down. I will fight for them and I am sure they will fight for me. I also ask fans to support and help them. I’ll be back soon,” he said.
