Di María scored and assisted in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Venezuelain qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, in what was a perfect farewell to his country with the “albiceleste” jersey.
After the match at the “Bombonera”, in Buenos Aires, in which he shone loud and clear, the 34-year-old PSG winger published a message of thanks in which he said goodbye to the Argentine public.
“Thank you for all the affection received. I’ve always dreamed of everything I experienced on that beautiful night. It was definitely my last match with this jersey in Argentina. To say it was a wonderful night is an understatement. Thank you, a thousand times thank you”, wrote the ex-Benfica, who should leave the team definitively after the final phase of the World Cup in Qatar.
