He arrived at the start of the season to replace Luís Maximiano and, despite only seven official games with a lion on his chest, João Virgínia pleased the technical structure of Sporting, starting with Rúben Amorim but also, with great importance, to Jorge Vital, goalkeeper coach.
Hired by the Lions on loan, valid for one season, from Everton, João Virgínia has, you know AT BOLA, opened the doors of continuity to Sporting, although under different conditions from those contracted. Although he likes the structure and, according to our newspaper, happy with what he found at Alvalade, although he lives in the shadow of the undisputed Antonio Adán, the Portugal Under-21 international goalkeeper will only have continuity if the conditions of stay are renegotiated.
In the loan contract, we recall, the SAD of Sporting has a purchase option of 3.5 M€ and, for the moment, it is already certain that it will not activate this clause in end of season. There is however the openness of Everton to review the conditions, namely a possible extension of the transfer. With a contract valid until 2024, a definitive transfer is not excluded, but for amounts much lower than those stipulated in the loan agreement.
