We’ve been talking about it for a few months. UEFA announced on Tuesday the creation of the trophy which will pit the European champion against the South American champion, called Finalissima.
This year’s unique match will pit Italy, winners of Euro-2020, against Argentina, winners of the Copa América in 2020.
The final is scheduled for June 1 at 7:45 p.m. at Wembley Stadium, curiously where Italy beat England to win the European title.
It is the return of the face to face between the champions of UEFA and Conmebol, which had already taken place in 1985 with France beating Uruguay and then in 1993, with Argentina beating Denmark.
