Jorge Jesus opens the door to return to I Liga and with a record in sight

The coach was honored at the National Football Coach Association Forum.

Jorge Jesus was honored this Tuesday at the National Association of Football Coaches Forum (ANTF) and, with more than 600 games in the main Portuguese league, as a coach he admitted to having the ambition to beat the record.

“I want to thank you for this career award. This distinction is important for 600 games. There are two coaches with more, Fernando Vaz [626] and Manuel Oliveira [617]. Sadly, both have passed away.”

Jesus therefore left the door open to return to I Liga, having left Benfica’s command during this season. “If God gives me health, I still hope to make those 20-something games and surpass those numbers in the near future,” he said.

By the way, Jorge Jesus has played 603 games as a manager in I Liga.
