Footballers Tiago Araújo, from Arouca, and Bernardo Vital, from Estoril, are breaking news in the U-21 national team call-up.
The two players were chosen in order. from Vitinha’s call-up to the main selection and the dismissal of Nuno Tavares, due to injury, confirmed this Monday afternoon by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
Portugal hold the first training session on Monday afternoon, at 5 p.m., in Lagos, in preparation for the next two qualifying matches for the European Championship 2023.
On Friday 25, Portugal will face Iceland, in Portimão, from 8:15 p.m. Next Tuesday, the 29th, the team led by Rui Jorge travels to Greece, to face the Hellenic team, in Tripoli, at 5:00 p.m. (mainland Portugal time).
At this stage, Portugal are top of Group 4, with 15 points from five games, in a direct qualifying zone. Greece are the closest team, in second place, with 14 points, but one more game played.
