FC Porto adds a 55th game without losing in I Liga and becomes one of Benfica’s records

By beating Boavista 1-0, in Bessa, on matchday 27 of the 2021/22 edition, with a goal from Fábio Vieira, Sérgio Conceição’s men now have 44 wins and 11 draws in their last 55 games.

This Sunday, FC Porto added their 55th game without losing in I Liga, equaling their historic record and placing themselves one of the league records, in possession of Benfica since 1978/79.

By beating Boavista 1-0, in Bessa, on the 27th day of the 2021/22 edition, with a goal from Fábio Vieira, Sérgio Conceição’s men now have 44 wins and 11 draws in the last 55 games, a record which started in 2020/21.

After the defeat in Paços de Ferreira, by 3-2, in the sixth round of the I Liga 2020/21, on October 30, 2020, the “dragons” have not lost again and have already equaled their maximum in the competition, qu they had drawn between rounds 22 of 2009/10 and 16 of 2011/12.

Then, a 3-1 defeat at Barcelos, with Gil Vicente, ended Vítor Pereira’s men’s unbeaten streak and prevented FC Porto from equaling Benfica’s maximum, the 56 matches unbeaten run between the sixth round from 1976/77 and the first from 1978. /79.

In this cycle, which ended with a 1-0 loss to Antas, the “incarnates” had 44 wins and 12 draws.
