Ajax won at home against Feyenoord, 3-2, in what was the Amsterdam side’s first match after the 0-1 loss to Benfica which dictated the elimination of the Champions League.
The ‘ghost’ of the European night loomed over the Johan Cruyff Arena when, just after the eighth minute, Luis Sinisterra gave Feyenoord the lead.
Sébastien Haller (24′) restored the equality, but the visitors reacted immediately with Guus Til (28′) scoring the goal which, at half-time, gave the Rotterdam team a narrow lead.
In the second half, Dusan Tadic (78th) and Antony (86th) turned the tide, goals that earned Ajax an important triumph, leading with 66 points and eleven ahead of Feyernoord, who was third.
PSV, which this afternoon receives the penultimate place, Fortuna Sittard, is second with 61 points.
