On the occasion of the presentation of the new Redmi K50 and K50 Pro, the brand of the Xiaomi universe also announced the new Redmi K40S. This new device comes to market with some relevant improvements over the Redmi K40 launched last year.
The new smartphone with an excellent quality / price ratio brings novelties in its heat dissipation system, camera and charging speeds. In short, a small update that brings another excellent equipment around 250 €.
Xiaomi Redmi K40S brings Snapdragon 870 processor and 120Hz display
Like the model unveiled in 2021, the new Redmi K40S is equipped with the Snapdragon 870 processor. It is an (almost) high-end SoC that offers impeccable performance, but at a much better price-performance ratio.
Something that will help its interface feel smooth will be the AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. We’re talking about a 6.67-inch panel and Full-HD+ resolution as is the case in this market range.
The Redmi K40S also has 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Their internal storage schemes include 128 GB or 256 GB in the UFS 3.1 standard.
As mentioned earlier, the photographic component of this equipment also brings novelties. Although this Redmi K40S retains the main 48 MP sensor, it now has image stabilization technology (OIS).
Its camera also consists of an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies and video calls, the user will have a 20 MP lens housed in a small hole in the smartphone screen.
Fast charging is now 67W
It is in the battery that we find one of the main novelties / improvements of the Redmi K40S. Instead of the 33W of the original model, this version now has 67W of charging.
According to the brand, this will allow you to recharge your 4500 mAh cell in just 38 minutes. This is an almost 50% reduction in smartphone battery charging times.
Finally, it is important to note that the Xiaomi Redmi K40S arrives on the Chinese market for values equivalent to 252 € in the basic version or 343 € in the version with more memory. We still have no information on possible availability in Western markets.
