LG is developing OLED screens for the new iPads and MacBooks

The next MacBooks and iPads will feature an OLED display made by LG. The information passed through The Elec websitewhere LG would work on making screens for the company’s tablets and laptops. Apple.

According to the information, LG is currently producing OLED screens for two iPad models. Then the plan is to deliver displays for Apple’s first OLED MacBook around 2025.

LG will produce Gen 8.5 OLED displays for the MacBooK 2025

According to The Elec, LG will supply Gen 8.2 OLED displays using its Paju factory located in South Korea. Previous reports have said LG’s factory in this city is key to Apple’s plans to offer iPads with OLED displays, as well as its intentions to increase to offer of OLED screens for future models of the iPhone.

11″ and 12.6″ iPads will use LG’s Gen 6 OLED displays

I think the MacBook OLED release date mainly depends on the timing of OLED adoption by the iPad. MacBook would use OLED in 2025 at the earliest if Apple could successfully release 12.9-inch and 11-inch OLED iPads in 2024.

Mass production of OLED panels for iPad models is expected to begin in 2023

Considering the leaks we currently have, it is believed that LG plans to start mass production of LTPO OLED displays for iPad between the years 2023 and 2024 for the MacBook OLED which will be released in 2025.
