Rio Grande do Sul had confirmed, this Friday (18), the first death due to dengue fever in 2022. The victim is a 76-year-old woman, resident of Chapada, northern region of Rio Grande do Sul.
The death toll is counted in an epidemiological report published by the State Health Monitoring Center (Cevs). According to Cevs, the death occurred on March 9.
According to the epidemiological report, the patient had comorbidities, she had systemic arterial hypertension and obstructive pulmonary disease.
Symptoms of the illness began on March 3 and the elderly woman had a fever, headache, pain around her eyes, muscle pain, joint pain and nausea. On March 7, she was hospitalized.
