The agents of the EMCaa – Municipal Team for the Fight against Aedes Aegypti – are expected to intensify the action this Saturday 19. The special displacement will be centered on Theodoro Rosa Filho, due to the increase in the notification of positive cases in the neighborhood.

The current epidemiological moment puts the Ministry of Health on alert. The case overview indicates an increasing number of confirmed dengue fever cases in Catanduva. According to the director of the Department of Health Surveillance, Natália Costa, in the first half of March alone, the municipality recorded more reported cases than the whole month of January.

“We are on an upward curve and we must intensify the work. Actions are essential to contain the advance of the transmission. In addition, the support of the population is fundamental in this work to fight against dengue”, he underlines.

According to the Ministry of Health, the municipality counts 109 positive cases of the disease this year, in data updated until the first week of March. There were 36 in January, 63 in February and 10 in March. However, there are still 138 exams awaiting results, 88 of which are from the first days of this month. Over the whole of 2021, the city totaled 456 dengue fever diagnoses.
