Written by admin

Camboriu Baths records seven cases of dengue, including three autochthonous (contracted in the city), two imported, one undetermined and one under investigation, in addition to one case of non-resident Chikungunya. A total of 529 Aedes aegypti mosquito outbreaks have spread through the city’s neighborhoods. The Center has 122 and is the neighborhood with the most mosquito outbreaks, followed by the neighborhoods of Nova Esperança with 80; Nations with 42; and Barra, with 36.

“The heat combined with the summer rains contribute to a greater proliferation of breeding sites. We must therefore count on the help of the population to eliminate possible epidemics of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which transmits Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya”, explains the director of Environmental Surveillance, Eliane Guedes. The professional also recommends the use of aerosol insecticides, which are easily found in supermarkets, and the use of repellents to protect against the disease.

The Environmental Monitoring teams of the Health Department of Camboriu Baths, are stepping up visits to businesses and homes in areas with positive dengue cases. In these places, the professionals of the Dengue Fever Control Program also apply an insecticide, called “smoke”. The objective is to guide local residents in the face of the proliferation of the dengue mosquito and to eliminate any breeding grounds.
