A BOLA – The Dragons win a prize with the report of the classic with Sporting (FC Porto)

FC Porto won the Social Responsibility Prize of the month for February, awarded by the League, with the initiative “Audiodescription: an inclusive report”, launched in the match with Sporting, which ended with two goals in equality.

Audio description is a resource that translates images into words, allowing people who are blind or partially sighted to experience audiovisual content. It’s very similar to the usual report, but has a sensory description concern added to the details that make all the difference for those who can’t visualize the game.

Tiago Gouveia, Marketing Director of FC Porto, explained that this action follows a path of inclusion that the club wants to follow: “We want, more and more, all our fans to be able to have the best gaming experience, whatever your needs. We want everyone to feel the same inside the stadium and enjoy the best possible way inside the stadium.

“The most important thing is that the clubs have this common perspective with La Liga Portugal and the Fundação do Futebol. These distinctions make the clubs follow each other’s best practices, so we are happy when we are innovative, but also when we we can implement something that another club has pioneered,” he explained.

For Tiago Madureira, Executive Director of the League, the initiative provided a great example of innovation and how to work on fan engagement through inclusion: “It’s yet another seed for disruptive things to be made in favor of the integration of all fans. We are very proud that this experience, with a Portuguese club, is making its debut in a match in our competitions.

Tiago Madureira also took the opportunity to point out that this award is not competitive, but aims to recognize the work that has been done in the field of social responsibility.
