Vitória de Guimarães traveled to Madeira this Sunday to beat Marítimo, 1-0, in a match of the 26th day of the League.
The win for Pepa’s side, the second in a row in the competition, came in the 82nd minute, with Frenchman Nicolas Janvier firing a ‘bomb’ into Paulo Victor’s net after a combination with Geny Catamo. 20 days later, the Guimarães managed to keep the goal at “zero”: it hadn’t happened since the 6th round, at home with Belenenses SAD.
With these three points, Vitória reached 36 and regained 6th place from Estoril, while Marítimo retained 8th place (32 points).
