Rise in dengue cases puts region on alert

The occurrence of temporary rains and high temperatures make the scenario favorable for the proliferation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, which transmits dengue fever, Chikungunya fever and the Zika virus, when it finds a container containing stagnant water. And it is precisely because of this negligence in not eliminating stagnant waters that the region is again experiencing a moment of alert with the expressive increase in the number of cases of the disease.

The health teams are continuing the work of guiding and asking residents to cooperate, so that they are used to inspecting their homes and grounds, and having containers with water. However, this alert is often not taken seriously, and professionals continue to identify open garbage spots, gutters with standing water, poorly sealed water storage boxes, swimming pools unused tires and tires with standing water, among many other situations that have caused health concern. teams.

In São Miguel do Oeste, 13 dengue cases have already been confirmed this year, another 45 cases are considered suspicious. In addition, the municipality already counts 330 mosquito outbreaks in 2022, of which 50 were identified only this week. The information comes from the agent of the endemic sector, Renério Dill. According to him, fighting the mosquito is simple, just do not leave stagnant water in containers, clean the gutters, and everywhere where water can accumulate. According to the agent, if the resident has any questions, he can contact the team, which is available to help and guide the population in the best way. But the collaboration of all in the fight against the mosquito is essential.

“With the increase in suspected cases of the disease and the fact that the city is infested with the mosquito, the trend is for new cases of the disease to be confirmed, which greatly increases the concern of this scenario among the population. , because we don’t “I don’t want this situation to get worse, but for that we need the involvement and work of all the inhabitants. It is therefore necessary to reduce the number of mosquitoes in the city. For it to multiply, we need containers with water, so we need to remove these deposits, whether it’s a small plate, a flower vase, a canvas in the works , covering certain materials, among many other containers that can accumulate water”, he reinforces.

Dill points out that in recent days some smoke applications have already been carried out in the city, in order to stop the proliferation of Aedes Aegypti, and four new applications are planned for the next few days, one in Santa Rita and the d others in the central area of ​​the city. In Descanso, three cases of dengue fever have already been confirmed this year. In addition, four cases are considered suspicious. Faced with this scenario, new actions have been adopted by the Health team. In the town, which already has more than 20 outbreaks of Aedes Aegypti, this week, the application of smoke bombs was carried out in several streets of the central area and in neighborhoods of the city. The measure is preventive so that the situation does not worsen.

According to the secretary, Cleber Rech, the request is that the population collaborate in this fight against the mosquito, by eliminating the containers containing stagnant water. “If everyone does their part, we can control the situation and prevent it from getting worse. Care must be frequent and adopted by all residents. This inspection and the disposal of containers with standing water must be daily”, reinforces the secretary. . .

The Rech reminds that the resident who notices a situation presenting a risk of mosquito proliferation, must report it to the team of the Ministry of Health, whose professionals will adopt the necessary measures. Another request is for residents who have vacant lots to keep those spaces clean.

BELMONTE

In the municipality of Belmonte, another action against the Aedes aegypti mosquito was carried out this week. In the city, the application of a mist with the thermonebolization technique was carried out. According to Health Secretary Julimar Favero, 176 cases of dengue fever have already been confirmed this year. In addition, 68 cases are considered suspicious and 39 have been ruled out. Like Favero, with all the actions already carried out, it is expected that the confirmations of the disease will decrease. In town, the demand for collaboration and assistance from the population in the fight against the mosquito follows.

GUARACIABA

Guaraciaba already has 90 suspected cases and 23 confirmed cases of the disease.
