File Explorer has been present in Microsoft’s operating system since Windows 95, remaining virtually unchanged since its appearance. However, it looks like Redmond tech is currently working on an update that will slightly change the way you browse folders in Windows 11.
According to images shared on Twitter by software engineer Rafael Rivera, Microsoft intends to integrate tabs into File Explorer. In this way, the company hopes to prevent the user from opening multiple File Explorer windows, by consolidating all open areas into a single separate window in this way.
This feature is one of the most requested by Windows 11 users and although Microsoft has not announced anything new yet, it is quite possible that it will make the official announcement very soon.
