THE BALL – Monaco’s Russian owner donates to help Ukraine (France)

The latest example of solidarity with the victims of the invasion of Ukraine comes from Monaco. This Thursday, Dmitry Rybolovlev, president of the Monegasque emblem, announced that he would make a donation to the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, which provide support on Ukrainian territory.

“It is absolutely essential to help those who suffer the most. This is why I, Monaco, Cercle Brugge and several other companies belonging to the Rybolovlev family have decided to donate to these institutions.

With a fortune estimated at 6 billion euros, Rybolovlev grew rich thanks to his participation in Uralkali, the main Russian exporter of fertilizers and potash. However, the oligarch sold his assets to members of Putin’s family 10 years ago and has since severed all ties with the Kremlin, so he is not on the EU-sanctioned list.
