Today it has been revealed in the world of the web that it will be next April that Vivo will present its first X Fold foldable smartphone. According to Chinese website Jiemian, the terminal is codenamed “butterfly” and will arrive with an advanced hinge mechanism, in addition to other innovative technologies.

It is recalled that it was recently confirmed by the brand itself that the innovative NEX series had been extinguished. Apparently, it is the new X series that will succeed it and, therefore, incorporate the brand’s most innovative technologies.

However, the well-known leaked Digital Chat Station also revealed several design sketches of the new Vivo X Fold. In the images you can see that the terminal will include a round module for the quad rear camera setup which will also include an LED flash.

Other previously disclosed information had also already indicated that the terminal will open, like a book, to give access to the internal screen which will be perforated. There are more and more rumors circulating that the exterior and interior displays will have an integrated ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

What can we expect to see on the Vivo X Fold

From what is known so far, the new Vivo X Fold will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Unfortunately, no information has been released on the RAM capacity and storage options.

As for the displays, Vivo’s first foldable will feature a 6.5-inch OLED exterior display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. In turn, the interior display will have eight inches, a resolution QHD+ and also a 120Hz refresh rate.

The terminal will be powered by a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 80 watt fast charging and 50 watt wireless charging.

The rear camera setup will feature a 50-megapixel main sensor, complemented by a 48-megapixel ultrawide, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an eight-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.

Vivo X Fold will then be the brand’s first foldable smartphone which, if all the now advanced specifications are confirmed, will be part of the premium terminals in its portfolio.
