The largest cross-sectional increase in state wages in twelve years may not help much in the face of rising prices. In the second month of the year, the inflation that serves as a benchmark for salary increases was estimated at 1.8%, ie double the actual increases (0.9%). Without further changes, pensions also risk being left behind: even with the future additional increase, pensioners earning more than 600 euros lose purchasing power.
