With five cases recorded this week, Rio Claro has 16 confirmed cases of dengue in 2022. The disease is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which also transmits chikungunya, zika virus and yellow fever. No cases of these diseases have been identified this year in the commune.
Aedes aegypti breeds in calm water. That is why it is essential to eliminate containers and keep the yards always in order, in addition to disposing of the materials correctly. Preventive actions continue to be carried out by the Zoonoses Control Center throughout the city. The work includes house-to-house visits and inspections at strategic points.
The Municipal Health Foundation warns the population to, in this rainy season, be extra vigilant in the fight against the mosquito vector.
